I’ve got a copy of the newly printed guidebook in my hands. Many thanks to Harbour Publishing staff, especially Mary, Anna and Marisa, for their work on revisions and on the publicity tour. It looks great – now expanded to 208 pages, with a much more comprehensive Table of Contents than the first edition, and better quality printing of the b&w photos.

We are just working out the publicity tour details – looks like I will be doing slide shows and readings in Vancouver and Port Alberni this month. I hope to see you at one of them!

As many of you know, I live in Tofino. However, I have been spending much more time in Port Alberni these last few years, so I’ll be expanding this edition with a lot more first-hand info about Port. It’s a really nice community there – quite a vibrant arts scene (in contrast to its image as a stodgy old logging town), and it’s also got an absolutely great network of hiking trails both within the town limits, and nearby.
